Hazel Clayton Harrison served as Altadena Poet Laureate, Community Events, from 2018-2020. She worked closely with her co- Laureate, Editor-in-Chief, to edit the Altadena Poetry Review 2019 and Altadena Literary Review 2020. Her recent book, Down Freedom Road, was published in 2020 by Shabda Press. Her poetry has been widely anthologized in literary journals, such as the Altadena Literary Review 2020, Coiled Serpent, Grandfathers, A Rock Against the Wind, and River Crossings. She is the author of a children’s book, The Story of Christmas Tree Lane; and a memoir, Crossing the River Ohio (2014). She is a co-owner and operator of Jah Light Media, a publishing and media consulting firm; and is a member of the Pasadena Rose Poets.
