New Verse: Speculative Poetry, Saturday, May 6 at 2:00pm, Mt. View Mausoleum

I was born in Queens, New York City. My father was in the Air Force so we moved around a lot. On his medical retirement in 1969 we moved to Los Angeles. With the exception of two years in graduate school at San Jose State, I remained in Los Angeles. My senior year of high school, in a science fiction class, I caught the writing bug.. I wrote mainly articles during college (L.A. Valley College and Cal State Northridge). I started writing fiction and poetry from that point. To support my writing I have worked at a variety of jobs, most recently as a Teen Services librarian with the city of Los Angeles. My poems have appeared in such publications as the San Fernando Poetry Journal, Lynx Eye, and the online journals Folly and Danse Macabre. My short story “Candle” appeared in issue #19 of the online journal Ginosko. I am the co-founder of The Greater Los Angeles Writer’s Society (www.glaws.org) and my website is under construction.
