BOOKISH, Sunday, May 7 at 5:00pm, Mt. View Mausoleum

Performer, author and radio commentator Sandra Tsing Loh is the host of BOOKISH, produced by the Southern California News Group. She is the author of seven books including The Madwoman and the Roomba, the follow-up to The Madwoman in the Volvo: My Year of Raging Hormones, which was selected as one of the New York Times’ 100 Most Notable Books. The “Madwoman” franchise also inspired her most recent stage production, Madwomen of the West, which premieres May 26 at the Odyssey Theatre and stars Caroline Aaron, Marilu Henner, JoBeth Williams and Melanie Mayron. A well-known voice on NPR as a regular commentator on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and on PRI’s “This American Life” and “Marketplace,” she is the producer of the Loh Down on Science and a longtime contributing editor at The Atlantic. Her book Mother on Fire was inspired by her hit solo show about Los Angeles public education. Sandra’s other beloved solo shows include The B**** Is Back: An All-Too Intimate Conversation, Sugar Plum Fairy, Aliens in America and Bad Sex with Budd Kemp. http://sandratloh.ag-sites.net/index.htm.
